Aura Energy/Aura Alliance

Aura Energy Limited (Aura) is a uranium exploration company that is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Aura has a portfolio of exploration titles in Australia, Sweden and West Africa which are being actively explored for calcrete and sandstone-hosted uranium deposits.

In April 2007 GCM and Aura signed a heads of agreement to form an alliance to identify and acquire uranium projects in Africa. The alliance identified four prospective opportunities in Mauritania where GCM exercised its right to participate in the exploration and evaluation phase with Aura in a joint venture. Although the alliance expired on 31 December 2009, the four joint ventures covering exploration licences in Mauritania remain active.

During 2008, GCM acquired 7,939,993 shares in Aura Energy Limited which as of 1 February 2010, represents 10% of the issued share capital of Aura.
